I offer individual and couples sessions face to face from a garden room and online via Zoom. You don’t have to try and cope alone. Current world events have placed additional strain on people and relationships and seeking help can be a positive experience with potential long term gains. Please do contact me to talk about how I may be able to help.
About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my counselling practice. Are you feeling overwhelmed by life events, or are there recurring problems in your relationships which are causing you stress? Do you feel you have lost your sense of who you are? Perhaps you feel you are pre occupied with the past or the future and feel unable to fully engage with your life?
Counselling offers the opportunity to talk confidentially to a trained counsellor who will accept and support you as you find your way forward. Life can sometimes feel very challenging and we can feel overwhelmed. It can happen gradually or there may be a sudden event when we realise our usual coping skills are not working as well as they have and we feel “stuck”. Counselling can help to look at what is going on, perhaps to understand things or maybe to look at our responses in a different way. You may want to explore your emotions and feelings about events in the past or explore a current issue or relationship. Through greater awareness and clarity it is my hope that you may experience an improved sense of wellbeing leading to the possibility of change.
I can provide both short and long term work, depending on your needs and wishes. I conduct regular reviews to ensure we are working on the areas you identify as important.
My fees are £55 for 50 minutes for individuals and £75 for 60 minutes for couples.
Practice description
I have experience of working with a wide range of issues, and my approach to counselling is integrative, which means that I am trained in a number of therapeutic approaches and can tailor counselling to meet your individual needs.I have undertaken additional training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy that can be very effective in helping to understand and manage strong feelings. I also have an interest in relational issues and have completed a Diploma in Relationship Counselling with Relate. I work with both individuals and couples on relationship issues. I have also undertaken specialist Bereavement Counselling training to work with this specific type of loss.
Prior to training to become a counsellor I worked for 20 years supporting children and families at times of significant stress in a statutory setting. In addition to my private practice I work for Frontline 19 providing counselling for NHS staff and I have extensive experience working with trauma, loss and managing strong emotions. I have worked in a community counselling service providing counselling to people of different ages and backgrounds working particularly with issues around bereavement and anxiety.
My first session
I offer a free no obligation 20 minutes telephone or Zoom conversation to discuss what brings you to counselling and to see if we might work together. If you decide to proceed with counselling I then offer you an overview of working therapeutically, and we discuss the way forward in terms of mutual availability. I complete an assessment so we can work collaboratively on the goals you set and number of sessions you wish to attend.

In addition to my private practice I am qualified and offer clinical supervision to counsellors. I work face to face from a garden room and online via Zoom and Teams. I currently have availability for supervision and work flexibly Monday to Thursday each week.
About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my supervision practice. I am an experienced, qualified supervisor who works with individual counsellors and wellbeing coaches and groups to provide a space to reflect on the important and challenging work we do with clients.
I aim to provide a safe space for the exploration of your work with the client at the centre of our discussion. I work collaboratively with you to support your practice and also to reflect on your personal learning to help you meet your own developmental goals. I use Hawkins 7 eyed model principally as a systemic lens to explore the different dynamics in client work within an ethical framework that promotes the values of counselling.
I have extensive experience in addition to private practice of supervising health and wellbeing coaches, social prescribers, volunteers and behaviour change practitioners (working in the field of criminal justice).
I conduct regular reviews to ensure that supervision is meeting your needs.
My fees are £55 for 1 hour or £82.50 for 1.5 hours monthly supervision. I also work with trainee counsellors and can provide "top up" supervision for counsellors on placement.
