About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Hayley a Psychotherapeutic counsellor :)
I am a Post graduate trained therapist and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Within the rush of modern daily life our emotional health is often neglected and this can begin to impact on our wellbeing. I would like to offer you a safe space to sit and talk through whatever may be weighing heavy on your shoulders. I believe that what helps people, is the experience of being able to process feelings, emotions and memories with someone who is warm and empathic, and can gently offer insight.
I want you to feel safe and seen within the counselling relationship with me. It is not every day we share the most painful parts of ourselves with another person, and feel as though they truly understand, what it might have be like for us to go through a certain experience or feeling. I do find it helps people to gently reflect on their early lives, where they feel comfortable. I am also interested in exploring the deeper meaning of life with clients if that is something they wish to bring to therapy.
I believe that developing a compassionate way of relating to ourselves and our experiences is incredibly important, this will be reflected in our work together.
I have specific interest in the following areas:
- Chronic/invisible illness
- Autism & neurodiversity
-Highly sensitive people & empaths
I am currently working online via Zoom, email, or telephone.
I am able ,and have worked with both adolescents and adults. My training was a specialised training in Child and adolescent counselling, which means a lot of the theory was based on Attachment (our early relationships with our caregivers) and Psychodynamic theory (How our early life affect us).
