About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP registered and accredited counsellor with 16 years experience. I work from Rutland House on Friar Lane.. a beautiful Grade II listed building situated in the St Martins area of the city.
I work in a way that is sensitive, in-touch and eclectic, offering a 'tailor-made' approach to each individual client.
Whilst being in private practice I have worked with a diverse range of issues and my work experience includes 5 years in prison, probation and hostel settings, and a 10 year long service certificate awarded by Cruse Bereavement Care.
As a professional counsellor my role is to provide a safe and trusting environment, the emphasis being on the therapeutic relationship, where you will find a calm, compassionate and non-judgmental approach that is sensitive, in-touch and unique to you, enabling you to explore any issues that you feel are causing you difficulties in your life.
Counselling can provide a person with a better understanding of their emotions, behaviours and perception of life experiences. I work to promote the process of healing and believe everyone has the inner resources for personal growth. I am committed to helping people work through their life challenges, identifying specific areas that may need change.
I specialise in bereavement and loss and have a special interest in working with survivors of suicide.
In addition to my private practice I have worked for the past 6 years as an equine therapist and offer sessions in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, working as part of the team for Horses for Causes at Soar Valley Stables, Blaby, Leicester. Taster sessions of 20 minutes can be provided on request, sessions are unique and tailor-made for each client.
I offer home visits at a time that suits you and an added option to visit my home practice postcode LE8.
