About me and my therapy practice
I love to support people through their unique process of growth, to discover, honour and follow their truth and to live more fully.
Due to relaxed Governmental guidelines regarding contact related to Covid-19, I have now resumed face-to-face, in-person, counselling sessions.
My passion for counselling was ignited when I first became a client in my late twenties; I recognised that I was repeating some painful patterns and so I learned to connect with my inner resourcefulness and to feel the benefits of developing more care and compassion for myself.
I loved the creativity of the therapeutic process and went on to professionally train and qualify in Holistic Therapeutic Counselling; gaining a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in 1992/3.
My counselling approach is Integrative and includes CBT, Person Centred, Gestalt, Mindfulness and guiding you to manage your emotions more effectively.
I also love to support people to connect with their heart-space; a calm, peaceful, accepting space, which offers a very different experience of self and from which, life can be viewed and approached in a more balanced and relaxed way.
My first session
I offer a free, introductory 15 minute phone call, which gives me an opportunity to understand a little of what's going on for you and sense whether I might be able to support you. And because it's important to find a counsellor that you feel comfortable with, the call allows you to get a sense of me, too.
From there, we can discuss whether to meet for a face to face, First Consultation, where you get the chance to talk in more detail about what's troubling you and we both have an opportunity to see how it feels to sit with each other.
At the end of the First Consultation, we assess whether to continue working together and if so, we talk over possible counselling duration, reviews and your goals for the counselling process.
