About me and my therapy practice

Anxiety, depression, addiction can creep up on us and eventually impact our daily lives leaving us feeling stressed, overwhelmed and even stop us in our tracks. That’s when counselling can be of real value. Entering into a supportive, non-judgemental, professional relationship to explore feelings, thoughts and behaviours can be extremely beneficial to gain a clearer understanding of your experience.

At the heart of counselling is the healing relationship. In this process of collaboration, we can learn what you truly need in your life to manage any problems as they arise.

"From the first session, Jan has been a compassionate, adaptive and intelligent counsellor. She has transformed my view of myself and given me a myriad strategies to cope with my problems, allowing me to live a more full and happy life. I feel totally comfortable talking to her and would recommend her to anyone!" (Testimonial by LD).

Practice description

The range of my counselling and therapeutic techniques, along with my integrative training, enables me to construct a treatment plan tailored to your unique and specific needs. Due to my history of working with a charity supporting people with addiction, domestic & sexual abuse, co-dependency, depression & anxiety, bereavement and loss, I am able to offer counselling support to  clients facing any of these issues. Furthermore, my three years working as a counsellor with Age UK means I have the experience to support clients affected by major life changing issues.

I offer 12 Step counselling for addiction and co-dependency and for those supporting friends and family in addiction. Additionally, I am a sessional therapist at a high profile clinic for mental health, addiction, eating disorders and co-dependency.

“... thank you so much for completely changing my thought process and ultimately changing my life with our sessions! I am so grateful I cannot thank you enough. (Testimonial by J E).
