About me and my therapy practice
In a confidential, open and non-judgemental environment I aim to help you explore whatever is on your mind at a pace that feels right for you - in person or remotely.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an in-depth way of looking at your problems. At each step we work together to explore alternative ways to move forward in your life. To achieve this we also look back, uncovering any repetitive patterns of behaviour and understanding how they are contributing to what you feel is going wrong.
Psychotherapy can help with all kinds of problems.
From difficulties with relationships, a frustrated career, anxiety and depression, or simply feeling misunderstood and confused about who you are and what you want.
Some, but by no means all, of the areas I work with include:
Anxiety, depression, stress and difficulty regulating your emotions
Forming meaningful and lasting relationships, navigating complex relationships and understanding ambivalence, commitment issues, shame and self sabotage
Family issues including relationships with parents, siblings and children
Feeling held back by traumatic childhood experiences
The challenges of life transitions such marriage, fertility and parenthood and facing retirement
Living with long term illness
Loss and making sense of, and surviving, endings
Low self esteem
I have well established in person and remote practices. Please get in touch to discuss your needs.
The therapy takes place in a calm, tranquil and spacious setting which is part of a dedicated therapy practice called Oxford House Therapy. Gunnersbury Station is one minute's walk, Chiswick Park and Kew Bridge Stations are close by. Buses run to Hammersmith, Shepherd's Bush, Barnes and Richmond from near the therapy practice. The therapy room is located on the upper ground floor involving a short flight of stairs.
My first session
After receiving your enquiry I will contact you to arrange a brief telephone conversation during which we can arrange to meet for either an in-person or remote session.
This is where we explore what brings you to therapy now, your hopes for the future, and get to know each other a little and see how we work together. This is also your opportunity to ask any questions.
We can then decide the best way forward and agree a regular day and time to meet each week.
Sessions take place once or twice weekly and last 50 minutes.
The fee per session starts from £80. The fee is discussed and agreed during the first consultation.
