About me and my therapy practice
In a completely confidential, open and non-judgemental environment I aim to help you explore whatever is on your mind at a pace that feels right for you.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is an in-depth way of looking at your problems. It can be time limited and focussed on a particular issue or open-ended.
At each step we work together to explore alternative ways to move forward in your life. To achieve this we also look back, uncovering any repetitive patterns of behaviour and understanding how they are contributing to what you feel is going wrong.
Psychotherapy can help with all kinds of problems.
From difficulties with relationships, a frustrated career, anxiety and depression, or simply feeling misunderstood and confused about who you are and what you want.
Some, but by no means all, of the areas I work with include:
Anxiety, depression, stress and difficulty regulating your emotions
Forming meaningful and lasting relationships
Family issues including relationships with parents, siblings and children
Feeling held back by traumatic childhood experiences
The challenges of life transitions such marriage, fertility and parenthood and facing retirement
Living with long term illness
Low self esteem
Please get in touch to discuss your needs.
The therapy takes place in a calm, tranquil and spacious setting.
My therapy room is located on the border of W4 and W6 - within the Hogarth Health Club. There is a receptionist, waiting areas including indoor/outdoor cafe, toilet facilities and excellent transport links (Stamford Brook Underground Station on the District Line is a 4-5 minute walk, bus stops to Hammersmith, Shepherd's Bush, Barnes and Richmond are a one minute walk). Parking is available on site at £3 per hour or there is alternative parking on adjacent streets. The therapy room is located on the first floor involving a short flight of stairs with handrail.
Covid safety measures
Safety measures are in place. Due to ongoing safety concerns during the pandemic sessions can also take place remotely via Zoom, Skype or telephone.
My first session
After receiving your enquiry I will contact you to arrange a brief telephone conversation during which we can arrange to meet.
My therapy practise begins with a no obligation first meeting.
This is either in person or remotely where we explore what brings you to therapy now, your hopes for the future, and get to know each other a little and see how we work together. This is also your opportunity to ask any questions.
We can then decide to have a second exploratory meeting or make the decision to begin therapy and agree a regular day and time to meet each week.
Sessions take place once or twice weekly and always last 50 minutes.
The fee per session starts from £80. I do offer concessions for those on low incomes.
