About me and my therapy practice
I believe therapy works best collaboratively. I will guide the session with questions in order to better understand your stressors and relational history. You can think of therapy as a conversation- but where the focus is primarily on you. My goal is to create a safe and unbiased space to discuss your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
I communicate progress directly with clients as we work together to meet your therapeutic goals.
At the moment, I see clients completely online through a protected video link. Sessions are 50 minutes long for individuals and 60 minutes long for couples and families.
Clients usually commit to 6 sessions meeting on a weekly basis and most clients continue meeting for at least 12 sessions. As therapy is tailored specifically to each person and their individual needs, total duration of therapy can vary from client to client.
You can expect a warm and inviting space during our sessions. Understanding my client's perspective, history, and emotions are my primary goals and I see these things as the fuel needed to produce growth and change.
My first session
During our first session, I will cover all necessary intake information. This means, I will spend about 10-15 minutes covering the paperwork that I will have sent prior to our first meeting. I will also address any questions or concerns from the client(s) regarding any of this information. My hope is to use the majority of our first session to dive in and get started with our work together!
