About me and my therapy practice
As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, non judgmental and confidential environment, a safe place where you can be yourself.
I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is paramount, and together we can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, so you feel listened to and comfortable in our sessions.
Person-centred counselling was originally developed by the psychotherapist Carl Rogers, and emphasises on the qualities of the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist.
Rogers believed that all individuals have the ability for growth and enhancement, and healing can occur within the relationship if the client feels they are being valued, understood and accepted.
Person-centred therapy can help people change the way they think and feel about themselves and therefore facilitating a positive change.
I, as the therapist will enter into your world alongside you, to support you on your counselling journey.
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within the Ethical Framework to ensure good practice.
I have volunteered with adults experiencing drug and alcohol addiction.
I undertake regular supervision and continued personal and professional development.
I work from The Hub on Rye Hill in Rye, East Sussex. It is located next to the Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital and has free parking.
I also offer telephone and online sessions.
