About me and my therapy practice
If you would like someone to listen to you and help you find ways to manage your emotional issues such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, trauma or difficult life events then counselling can help.
I work with young people and adults in private practise situated in Aylesbury and Thame. I offer a confidential non-judgemental safe and comfortable environment, allowing my client's to express and explore themselves, their feelings, thoughts and concerns. As a integrative counsellor I use different theoretical models as appropriate to each individual's needs, which enables me to work with clients short and long term.
My experience has included working with young people in schools, I am passionate about working with the young to offer support and make changes early in their lives rather than continue to have negative patterns of behaviour. I have worked with young people in school and university holidays to offer short term support and also support through out term time for long term support.
I also work in an agency that supports people who have experienced sexual and domestic abuse and this work can be life changing for individuals.
The environment I offer helps clients understand themselves, their current situation or their relationship, and build more self-awareness and confidence. With greater awareness and confidence comes more choice to make alternative or different decisions, to help us stop repeating negative behaviours and allow us to make better choices for the future.
I previously worked within the health and fitness industry for over 10 years and I believe that a healthy mind leads to a healthy body and so the mind is a very important area to nurture.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. I also receive regular clinical supervision to ensure that I am working in the best way that I can for you.
