About me and my therapy practice
Hello. My name is Chui-Ling and I am an accredited counsellor who genuinely love helping young people (13 years+) and adults live their best lives.
I'm here to work with you to overcome any issues you may have and will be supportive, honest and kind. I will listen with empathy and without judgement. I am an integrative counsellor which means I use various modalities such as person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and brief solution focused therapy. The service I offer is bespoke to you as "one size does not fit all". I am experienced in working with adolescents and adults, many struggling with difficulties such as anxiety and depression. I have work experience that includes working at Childline, a bereavement charity and as a young person's counsellor visiting clients at schools and colleges.
It would be a privilege to work with you and explore your thoughts, feelings and emotions that make you unique. I don't office advice but will help you find your own solutions and work with you and for you to gain an insight to your requirements.
I have a private practice that offers a safe and warm space for face-to-face counselling, telephone or on-line counselling.
You may be feeling out of sorts but unsure why. You may have a specific issue such as bereavement, anger, life transition, anxiety, low mood, etc. Maybe you would like to feel less stressed and happier with your life? Let go of overthinking, perfectionism or people pleasing? Be more confident in your decisions? Improve your relationships? Work through negative baggage that is holding you back? Develop different ways of coping? Manage your work-life balance. Start to value yourself more? Learn ways to manage your anger better? Whatever issues or problems you have, I can help you to understand and work through these challenges. We will work together to explore those emotional issues that have been affecting your life, work, relationships.
Our sessions will help you to understand your feelings and behaviours more fully, so that you can reconnect with the "real you". As your self-acceptance and self-confidence develop, you will feel empowered to make the choices which will lead to long-standing positive changes in your life. All this in a confidential, supportive, non-judgemental 'therapeutic relationship' where together we can work through and resolve those personal problems that can make life so difficult.
My first session
Whatever your feelings about starting therapy, I aim to make the process as easy and comfortable as possible. During our first session, I will take some details from you and I will ask you some specific questions to help me understand your situation more fully and ensures that I'm aware of any information which may be relevant to our work together. I will also talk to you about some forms which I will ask you to complete. All of our sessions, including the first one, will progress at a pace which feels safe for you.
To help you decide whether you would like to work with me, I offer a free, no-obligation 15-minute telephone call for you to ask any questions.
