About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome. Life can be pretty tough for everyone at times and these are strange times indeed. You've taken the most important first step to finding some help.
Hard feelings do eventually pass, but sometimes we get stuck and need help to gain insight and options to manage those feelings better.
I provide a safe and confidential space for you to talk about any difficult feelings you have. I work in a very mindful way to help you reduce any anxiety you may be feeling and be able to deal better with everything else that is going on for you.
Sometimes our feelings are hard to talk about so I like to use creative approaches such as visualisation, art materials, and toys. This approach may unlock things you're not even aware you're holding on to. We can work this way over video and telephone using any materials you may have at home.
My approach is very inclusive and it is your experience of life that I am interested in - your background, your identity and your culture. I can help with feelings of anxiety, depression, grief, loss, or a general sense that you could feel better than you do. I also support people who don't know what they feel but know something isn't quite right and people with identity issues, ageing fears and past and present trauma.
I am an experienced counsellor and I am also completing my academic and professional training in psychotherapy this year. I am based in Birmingham and Solihull.
I offer a free of charge initial telephone consultation.
My first session
Our first session will be an assessment session. We will spend some time getting to know each other and agreeing what your goals are from the therapeutic work we will be doing together.
We'll discuss what risks there may be in the work and how I can support you properly to minimise those risks.
We'll agree how we will work together to enable you to get the very best out of the work we do.
