What times are available?
I am currently available for new clients on a Friday during the day. I can also offer weekend or evening appointments if needed.
What are your fees?
As a client, I understand the importance of doing your research and finding a counsellor who you feel you can work with. I can therefore offer a free twenty minute consultation over the phone to allow you to ask any further questions and make sure that I am what you are looking for. If we are both happy to proceed then we can book your first appointment.
Sessions can be scheduled weekly or fortnightly
Weekday Sessions are charged at an hourly rate of £50
Weekend sessions are charged at an hourly rate of £60
How and When do I need to pay?
Sessions can be paid via paypal or online transfer. These details will be shared when the first appointment is booked.
It is kindly requested that payments are made in advance of sessions in order to make a secure booking. Sessions cancelled 24 hours prior will be refunded or rescheduled.
How do you deliver your service?
Therapy sessions are delivered online and over the phone. This allows you to access the service without having to leave your home, reducing any further costs in travel or parking. With this in mind it is important to consider your privacy. You will need to have sessions at a time and place where you will not be interrupted or overheard.
How many sessions will I need?
This is a very common question for counsellors and unfortunately the answer may be "how long is a piece of string"
It is important to recognise that therapy is not like waving a magic wand. Resolving any big problem properly can take time. I will of course discuss this during the initial session and it will always be completely your decision when therapy will end.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi, My name is Grace and along with my degree in psychology and my counselling diploma I have over five years experience of working in victim support and have specialised in counselling survivors of sexual and domestic abuse.
I am friendly and approachable and can provide a safe space for you to focus and talk about what you need to. My training was person centre focussed which means I will work at your pace with what you choose bring to the sessions as you are the expert of your story.
My private practice, Self Centre Counselling is named as such because in my experience, clients often come to therapy because they have often lost a sense of them selves and their needs and I believe that I can help them to refocus. Please look at my website for more information or get in touch if you have any questions.
