About me and my therapy practice

These are challenging times. If you need someone to talk to about how you are feeling, please do get in touch. I have sessions available via Skype or telephone at present. Face to face sessions will resume as soon as things become more settled.

I have been a practicing therapist for over 15 years, within an NHS setting, organisations and now in private practice. I work with adults - individuals and couples.

Prior to my psychotherapy training, I worked in the private sector for many years, within a learning and development setting where I provided coaching and performance feedback for employees.

I specialise in relationships, anxiety, depression and loss. But I have experience in many other areas - please see list below.

My ideology encourages wellbeing at every level - emotional, physical, spiritual and mental (or the mind). I strongly believe that balance in all areas is the key to a contended life.

I consider myself an integrative therapist. Originally trained in person-centred/ psychodynamic therapy, I combine these approaches with elements of CBT, mindfulness, transpersonal (spiritual/Jungian) therapy and creative arts therapy. I will welcome you as a unique individual and work with whatever you bring, in a way that feels right for you.

I am based in the pretty village of Lode, just outside Cambridge, just off Junction 35 of the A14. If you are more of an outdoors person, the natural surroundings provide a perfect backdrop for walking therapy or 'Ecotherapy' to give it it's proper name. This simply involves walking and talking in the great outdoors.

Whatever challenge you face at the moment, therapy could help you take a fresh look at what has been, what is and what is to come.

About me and my therapy practice

Integrative therapist of over 15 years experience within NHS,  private practice and organisations. I am open-minded about working with therapists from different modalities.

Prior to my psychotherapy training, I worked in the private sector for many years, within a learning and development setting where I provided coaching and performance feedback for employees.

For 12 years, I was the in-house counsellor at a GP surgery.

I have provided counselling for young people in a charity setting and worked as a service user support worker for the mental health organisation Mind.

For me, supervision is a specialised form of mentoring; a collaborative working alliance between two professionals, in which we both have responsibilities. I have a particular interest in supporting the therapist and providing an environment based on acknowledgement, reassurance and growth. This aims to empower the supervisee/therapist, in turn, to work safely with their clients to ensure standards and quality of practice.

Initial meeting/ discussion - no fee.

Fees - 1 hr £60, 1.5 hrs £75. Concessionary fees possible for trainee or student – please call to discuss.

I can provide 1:1 supervision or groupwork where appropriate.

I hold the OCN (Open College Network) Certificate in Supervision.

I am based in Lode, just off J35 (A14) between Cambridge and Newmarket.
