About me and my therapy practice
Hello and Welcome,
I'm Rizwan and I'm a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist.
Starting therapy or even thinking about therapy can be a daunting experience, the first steps you have already made, get in touch to discuss and explore your feelings and emotions.
I will be supporting you in working or figuring out what is going on for you in your life in the present moment.
You may think it is obvious, but it means, you, the client, will be the centre of the therapy and will be the voice and will be leading the direction as we begin the healing process.
I am here to listen, help and support you through your own individual journey and in turn, help you progress on to the next stage in your life what ever that may be.
I have a wide variety of knowledge on multiple health conditions such as depression, anxiety, grief, stress and low self-esteem coupled with substance mis-use and alchol dependancy. I am able to offer a safe non-judgemental space where you can offload and explore your emotions, and making you more self-aware and making the right decisions and actions taken in life. This will help and allow you to reach your full potential.

I strongly believe that everyone should have access to counselling when needed. I do feel that due to recent times, a lot of people are struggling in silence, and as a result of suffering from various mental health issues. I want to offer counselling TO YOU if you need the help and support. I offer a safe and a non-judgemental space for you to talk about any issues that you wish to bring. I have worked with people from all ages and backgrounds. I have worked with people from all walks of life, so get in touch to discuss further.
I have a confidential safe space in Padiham that is warm and comfortable. The room is light and airy and with ample space for you to walk around, sit down, stretch out – whatever you are comfortable with.
I will be receiving you at the top of the stairs when you enter the building.
Access: There are stairs in the building. Please ask me about access arrangements if required.
Parking: There is plenty of free parking around the building, most roads around the building offer 2 hours free. There is also a large car park nearby called Mytton Street Car park.
My first session
Prior to the first session- We will speak over the phone initially and i will have a discussion with you regarding what is happening with you at this moment in your life. I will introduce myself and will get to know each other briefly. This process will last around 30 minutres and it is FRRE.
During the first session- I will meet you and we will conduct an initial assessment, which is some infomration about yourself and medical background. We will then explore expectations during our sessions and go over confidentiality and any questions you may have. Then we will discuss what ever you want to bring to the therapy room.
