About me and my therapy practice

I am a registered psychotherapist and counsellor based in London where I have experience working with men and women across all age groups. My approach is psychodynamic, which means working with you to understand the root cause of the difficulties you bring - this can often lie in past experiences. I will listen carefully to what you say and together we will explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to help increase your understanding of yourself. In this way new insights can emerge which can lead to new perspectives and an increased ability to bring about change.

As well as working in private practice, I volunteer for a charity which provides low-cost counselling to local residents and I also work in a Mental Health trust providing long term psychotherapy to NHS patients. I have recent experience of working with people caught up in traumatic events.

As part of my five-year training I also underwent therapy so I know it can be difficult to take the first step in seeking help and be confident that you have found the right therapist. Our first session will be at a reduced fee and long enough to allow us to explore your difficulties in some depth. You can then decide whether you want to continue to see me.

I offer short-term therapy of up to 12 weeks. This can be useful if you have a specific focus or want  an introduction to therapy. I also offer longer-term open-ended therapy, working with deeper-seated issues or as a means for personal development and exploration of the self.
