About me and my therapy practice
I'm a qualified and BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist. I aim to work with you in a warm, trustworthy and down-to-earth way, to support you with whatever is troubling you, be it anxiety, panic, stress, depression, relationships, work, or other issues.
We all have times when life feels challenging. Perhaps you've been finding yourself feeling nervous, down, angry or stuck, or struggling with the relationships in your life. Maybe you’ve been coping so far but things now feel overwhelming. Or maybe it’s been this way for a while and you really, really want it to change.
I aim to offer a safe place and a respectful relationship, in which you can take stock and think about what you're experiencing. Feeling heard and supported, thinking through options and exploring the difficult aspects and feelings in our lives can make a real difference - it can help us towards profound and long-lasting change.
In counselling terms, I’m an integrative therapist. This means I work in a flexible, collaborative way, drawing on a number of therapeutic approaches, so that together we can find the best way of working for you. Some clients may prefer a more practical approach, perhaps considering solutions to specific problems, or developing coping skills. Others may want to explore past experiences, understand their feelings and reactions, or think about their sense of self or how they relate to others.
Whatever brings you to therapy, I will always listen to you. My aim is to help you in working through your thoughts and feelings to find the goals and decisions that feel right for you.
I work out of my therapy room in Old Street. My room is part of a suite of therapy rooms and is in easy reach of Islington, Shoreditch, Moorgate, the City, and many other areas of North, East and Central London.
I offer face-to-face counselling, and can offer short-term (time limited) or open-ended therapy.
Currently due to coronavirus restrictions, I am offering sessions via phone or online video conferencing. I hoping to be able to offer face to face sessions for those clients who would prefer to work in person in the near future. Please do get in touch for more details.
My first session
My first session is an opportunity for us get to know each other a bit, to talk through what's bringing you to therapy and start to think about how therapy might help. It's also a chance for you to ask any questions you might have about therapy or myself and get a sense of what it might be like for us to work together.
