About me and my therapy practice

Kirsty is a BACP Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist. She has extensive qualification and experience counselling Adults, Children and Young people over many years. She now teaches other counsellors and allied professionals through supervision services, as a professional trainer for Coleg Gwent in Newport and as a Lecturer for the University of South Wales where she also continues to work towards her Doctorate. Kirsty is an integrative therapist which means she uses a variety of therapeutic approaches in order to meet the needs of each client. These might include CBT or solution focused approaches for shorter term work or counselling theories aimed at achieving greater depth of understanding over a longer period of time such as person centred work, gestalt, psychodynamic, existential and transpersonal approaches for example. It might be challenging to understand these terms if you haven't thought about counselling before but the most important description for Kirsty's work surrounds her ability to create a deep relational experience that will enable you to feel safe, valued and emotionally held through a competent and gently paced therapeutic experience. For a more in depth picture of Kirsty's skills and approach, please visit her website www.kirstybilski.co.uk where you will find further information and reviews from past client experience. Kirsty pays great attention to working mindfully to thoroughly understand your story from your perspective, with deep empathy and sound ethical and safe practice. The setting for her sessions is extremely comfortable, a calm and peaceful space which offers plenty of room for creative art or sandtray therapy as well as traditional talking therapies. The building is situated opposite park land and a beautiful lake which offer additional space for reflection if required. If you would like to discuss your individual situation please feel free to make contact with Kirsty in order to explore your requirements.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP Accredited Therapist with an MA in Consultative Supervision. I provide supervision services to counsellors and psychotherapists of all levels of experience from those who are working towards qualification to those who have been working in their profession for very many years. I have experience in working with adults of all ages in a wide variety of settings as well as having worked full time as a school counsellor in both primary and secondary settings. I also have an MA in Counselling Children and Young People and have continued to study towards a Doctorate with the University of South Wales. Therefore I provide supervision to a wide variety of school counsellors and professionals working in an educational setting. I am also qualified to offer supervision to allied professionals such as social workers, nurses, psychologists, art psychotherapists, support workers, and those working within the emergency services or caring professions. It  has become more recognised that working within a health care setting or helping profession can be particularly emotionally draining, leaving employees open to compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma and/or burnout. I provide a supervision setting which is relaxed, comfortable and peaceful. A haven where you will be met with deep understanding and sensitivity to your professional experiences. Where you can gain perspective on aspects of your working life and build coping strategies which can support you through some of the professional challenges you face. I have worked extensively with students too and offer a very supportive space where students can grow in confidence with their skills, and experience the opportunity for additional learning to compliment their professional development towards qualification. I am also a professional trainer for Coleg Gwent in Newport as well as lecturing on various courses for the University of South Wales in Newport.
