About me and my therapy practice

When we don’t know what makes us tick, it can feel as though we are drifting through life, unsure of our deeply hidden talents and potential. This can leave us feeling anxious, with low confidence and low self esteem.

Relationships become difficult as you fear either being swallowed up and lost, or becoming too dependent. Closeness can feel both anxiety forming as well as yearned for.

We start where you are with whatever troubles, fears and heartache you bring to the session. I work with your grief, heartbreak, sadness and loss, fear and anxiety, stuckness and  anger. Working with me is a journey to your authentic self. The one that might be overlaid with shame, guilt, fears and set in limiting stories you have told yourself.

I work looking for your little voice, gut instinct, intuition, that has for so long been overlaid or silenced by guilt, shame, anger, anxiety and other things which might include people pleasing (even when you don’t want to).

Understanding yourself well can open up possibilities of choice, of finally doing things differently, of feeling free enough to to make decisions based on your own feelings and experience. Bringing more of your authentic self to relationships opens you up to ones that are deeper and more fulfilling.

An experienced counsellor and psychotherapist - I bring warmth and empathy, humour and challenge. Working with me is a deepening journey into soul; a discovery of your own knowing and wisdom. We go at your pace, working towards a fuller understanding of how you are in in the world, through a renewed connection to self.

There is a voice that doesn’t use words. Listen. (Rumi)

I also work soulfully. Soul expresses itself in different ways. Working soulfully is working with things that don’t necessarily make sense. Images, poetry, story and dreams.

Practice description

I offer both online and in person sessions.  I offer a therapeutic space where you will be able to talk in confidence, and have the time to just be with your feelings and thoughts. I come with warmth, empathy and therapeutic experience, offering insight, reflection and a compassionate curiosity to where you find yourself.

We might start to look at your past and how it might be impacting you now. And we might begin to notice what is happening in your body at different times, so that if you are are anxious we can look at ways of bringing your anxiety to more tolerable levels.

Sometimes I may invite you to draw, or bring objects (everyday items) to the session. We might look at photos from your life. We can do all this online.

Perhaps you will need a few sessions to get something off your chest. Perhaps you want to look at how you are in relationships and will need more sessions to fathom that out and see lasting change. However long you want to come, we will be working together, collaboratively, with your best interests in heart and mind.

About me and my therapy practice

I work soulfully with individuals (single or otherwise) who are having difficulties in their relationships : family, intimate and friendships. Perhaps you are going through a break-up (either as the one who is ending the relationship, or as the one who is being left). Maybe you are heartbroken.  Or haven't come to terms with the ending of an old relationship. Perhaps you have issues around trusting others, have experienced betrayal or find yourself betraying. You may be anxious in relationships and back away while yearning for closeness. Maybe you lose yourself in relationships with others, forgetting you own needs and wants or not really knowing what they are in the first place. Perhaps you are lonely. I offer counselling and psychotherapy both short and longer term for individuals who want to find a way to richer and deeper connections with others. We work together to really get to know who you are and what makes you tick. Knowing yourself well will enable you to see old damaging patterns, that have kept you stuck and feeling hopeless. Understanding yourself well can open up possibilities of choice, of finally doing things differently, of feeling free enough to to make decisions based on your own feelings and experience. Bringing more of your authentic self to relationships opens you up to ones that are deeper and more fulfilling. I bring warmth, empathy, humour and challenge. Working with me is a deepening journey into soul; a discovery of your own knowing and wisdom. We go at your pace, working towards a fuller understanding of how you are in in the world, and in your relationships through a renewed connection to self.

About me and my therapy practice

Are you heartbroken, sad, lost, anxious, stuck? Perhaps you are navigating a transition, that comes with difficult and unwelcome feelings such as a relationship ending, bereavement, quarter or mid-life, menopause, getting older. Maybe you want to explore your identity and who you really are and this might feel risky. Maybe you yearn for change, but it eludes you.

An experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist- I bring warmth and empathy, humour and challenge. Working with me is a deepening journey into soul; a discovery of your own knowing and wisdom. We go at your pace, working towards a fuller understanding of how you are in in the world, through a renewed connection to self.

Alongside being attentive to your personal story, I work soulfully, meaning attending to things that don’t necessarily make sense but more than likely have something to say. The invitation is here to work with images, dreams, hunches. Soul expresses itself in different and less obvious ways and can offer up a richer and knowing part of who you are, and the potential within you.

I work relationally. This is working within the professional boundaries looking at how we impact each other. This awareness can help you to gain insight into how you are in the world, how you are impacted by others and how you view the world and your relationships.

About me and my therapy practice

You may not know what is wrong in your life, only that something is. You may know very clearly what troubles you but be wondering if anything could ever change for you. We start where you are with whatever troubles, fears and heartache you bring to the session. I work with your grief, heartbreak, sadness, loss, fear and anxiety, stuckness, numbness and anger.

Closeness can feel both scary and yearned for.

I work looking for your little voice, gut instinct, intuition, that has for so long been overlaid or silenced by guilt, shame, anger, anxiety and other things which might include people pleasing (even when you don’t want to).

The aim is to begin to really get to know yourself. This will enable you to see old damaging patterns, that have kept you stuck and feeling hopeless. Understanding yourself well can open up possibilities of choice, of finally doing things differently, of feeling free enough to to make decisions based on your own feelings and experience.
