About me and my therapy practice
Are you waking up and leaping into action?
Are your relationships rewarding and vital?
Do you feel grounded and calm and know you're on the path for you?
No?
Well, you are not alone.
Whether I am meeting people outside or in the therapy room, I find that overwhelmingly, people feel unsure, stuck, and sometimes disconnected from themselves.
Yes, I have life experience and am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, but you really need to know that I love what I do and have been where you are. I've experienced therapy from the client's seat.
I know seeking a therapeutic relationship is a radical self-care step, and I applaud you. I have been and remain super curious about life, the people I come into contact with, and how we relate. You may be seeking me for one-on-one therapy, a couple of relationship matrix.
All those things that are hard to say in usual conversations are welcome here, and we'll cultivate conversations where we can explore our curious lives.
We'll build a trusting relationship where we can link your current to your past experiences, understanding why you think and feel how you think and feel.
That means that I am interested in you and what has brought you to your current place and where you want to go. Together, we will work out what heavy load you carry that prevents you from being you.
Practice description
My private practice is in Ealing.
I offer six and twelve week short-term therapy and long-term, or open-ended sessions for individuals.
For couples and relationships, I recommend six to ten weeks.
Weekly sessions allow for the relationship to be built and ensure momentum.
Sessions are payable in advance. If you need to cancel a session, seven days' notice is required, and I appreciate four weeks' notice for the holidays.
My first session
You are likely to have worked on this before and I'm interested in what you have already tried, your experience of therapy and how it was to come and meet me.
I'll be interested in your past, mainly to understand how it is living in your present. To help you make connections between what you are doing now.
When we first meet you'll get a good sense of what working together would be like. We can have open conversations about whether I am best placed to work with you and if I am not I can refer you to a trusted list of therapists and coaches who may be a better fit.
You may share more than you expected, which may bring relief and can be disconcerting. These are normal feelings and usual when you say out loud what has previously been part of your inner world.
We’ll discuss confidentiality, length of therapy, and I can answer any questions and concerns you have.
The initial consultation sessions is 50 minutes and is chargeable.
