About me and my therapy practice

.Hi, My Name is Dave I run a Transformational Empowerment Counselling Service. I do not give advice. Instead, I view you as the best expert in your experience. 

I offer techniques of empowerment that fully equip you for the challenges you face today. Facilitating the process by enabling you to speak freely. In a confidential and secure space. It is hoped that by being truly heard, feeling understood and validated you feel empowered. Working with someone who offers empathy and thoughtful interventions will enable you to see things from your desired new perspective.

Empowerment is the degree of freedom and self-determination in you to be your true self free of negative self-talk. Living true to your values and principles. This enables you to change your mind and your life to become a better version of yourself. The person you truly are rather than what others expect you to be. Living your life with personal fulfilment. This is the process of becoming stronger more confident and more authentic. Especially in controlling your life and claiming your rights. If a problem is weighing you down let’s explore it together in this context. The things we allow ourselves to think and feel are just as important as our physical health. What’s been holding you back? Drop that limiting belief now.

Empowerment as action refers to the process of self-empowerment. This enables you to overcome your sense of powerlessness and lack of influence. We can not go back and erase the past. However, some of our greatest lessons will come from your lived experience. Therefore we use the experience as a link between past and future. Working together to better understand and resolve challenges in your current life. 

Practice description

I am a qualified integrated counsellor. This means I can draw on a lot of different types of counselling to deliver what you feel you need to move forwards. I meet you where you feel you are at in life. Using everyday terms easy to understand. 

The power of any thought we have either negative or positive depends on how much we buy into that thought. The perspective we view our challenges from can change the struggle. So you can train your mind to keep negativity at bay or reduced. The things you feel hold you back can be overcome with practice. When we learn how to manage stress, in effect we enlarge our capacity for encountering the rewarding things in life.

Taking my counselling service online enables me to reach more clients than ever before. Now extending across the UK. Now it’s more convenient than ever to talk in the comfort of your own home (or somewhere else you feel safe). This is proving to be a lifeline for many who might not otherwise be able to see a counsellor/ coach during working hours.

My first session

Your first session with me will be spent finding out what you want to achieve from our sessions together. I see individuals on an open-ended basis, long or short term. I aim to give you the space that you need to talk about anything that concerns you, and then help you to understand or process it. My counselling style is Integrative, which brings together different elements of specific therapies.

Essentially, I am not only concerned with what works, but why it works, tailoring therapy to you and not you to the therapy. I want you to feel valued and heard so that you can feel comfortable about opening up to me. Anything you want to talk about will be welcomed because it is all part of what makes you who you are.
