About me and my therapy practice
If you are reading this, you may be wondering if counselling is for you or you may have decided it is but are struggling to choose a counsellor from all the on line profiles.
The way all our lives have changed because of COVID-19 has created new challenges and highlighted uncertainty. We are all adjusting to a new world and your experiences over the past few months may have been very difficult or worsened things you were struggling with before. Or it may have prompted you to think about your life and what it means. Whatever you are struggling with, I would like to be there to support you so I will tell you a little bit about myself to help you make up your mind whether I might be the right person for you.
I am an experienced counsellor but I am also a warm, caring, compassionate person in everyday life and I feel these qualities are integral to my counselling work. I provide a quiet, contained space to really listen to what things are like for you. We will work together to develop your own understanding and meaning of what is happening so we can think about how you may wish to manage or change things.
My usual place of work is Beltinge, Herne Bay so I am very accessible from Thanet and the Canterbury and coastal areas. I am very pleased to now be working face to face with social distancing and hygiene measures firmly in place. I can also work via Zoom if you prefer this, please do not worry about the technology, we can work it out together. I promise that I will do my very best to make this as good an experience as I can.
I am experienced in working with depression, anxiety and when everyday life is getting on top of you. I work with relationship concerns and all kinds of loss, such as bereavement, job loss, redundancy and 'sense of self'. I can also help with overcoming negative thoughts and feelings and improving confidence and self-esteem.
