About me and my therapy practice
Deciding to have counselling is a step that may be new to you or one you have taken before. Thinking about what may be concerning you, especially in COVID-19 times, I appreciate that not least of these may be finance. With this in mind, please do talk to me to discuss what you may be able to afford for your sessions as I really would like to be accessible to you.
As COVID-19 continues to affect our daily lives and you may be worried about attending counselling, I would like to reassure you that, when working face to face, social distancing and hygiene measures are firmly in place. I can also work via Zoom if you prefer this, please do not worry about the technology, we can work it out together. I promise that I will do my very best to make this as good an experience as I can.
Now I have mentioned some practical things that could be concerning you, I will tell you something about myself as I know it must be very difficult to choose a counsellor based on on-line profiles.
I am an experienced counsellor but I am also a warm, caring, compassionate person in everyday life and I feel these qualities are integral to my counselling work. I provide a quiet, contained space to really listen to what things are like for you. We will work together to develop your own understanding and meaning of what is happening so we can think about how you may wish to manage or change things.
My usual place of work is Beltinge, Herne Bay so I am very accessible from Thanet and the Canterbury and coastal areas.
I am experienced in working with depression, anxiety, feeling sad, panic attacks, low self-esteem and when everyday life is getting on top of you. I work with relationship concerns and all kinds of loss, such as bereavement, job loss, redundancy and 'sense of self'. I can also help with overcoming negative thoughts and feelings and improving confidence and self-esteem.
My first session
I can work short or long term and we can discuss this at your first session. Whatever your reasons for coming into counselling, I would like to be there to support you. If you would like to ring me for a quick chat to help you decide whether you would like to make an appointment, please do so. However you contact me, you can expect a prompt response.
