About me and my therapy practice
Choosing a therapist can be quite daunting. It is hard to sift through all the options. Ultimately, the best therapist for you is the one who you feel most comfortable talking to.
Often we struggle with our thoughts and experiences that can leave us feeling alone with our troubles. When we speak to someone who is open and empathic, we can begin to make sense of our lives so that we can move forward.
This is a journey that we will take together. It is based on confidentiality, non-judgementalism and acceptance.
I am an integrative therapist. That means that I have been trained in several modalities and choose the one to use based on your needs.
I work with people from all walks of life and with varying concerns or worries. Be it anxiety, stress, depression, relationships or low self-esteem.
I also specialise in sleep-related issues such as insomnia or sleep-induced anxieties. I offer sleep-training for adults, called CBT-i (more details available on my website www.insomniahealing.com).
We meet weekly for 50 minutes, each week at the same time. Currently I work online, and will be available for face-to-face in the near future. If you need help setting up online, I can guide you, it’s not difficult, even if technology is not your thing. The software is free to download, and I will send you a unique password to join weekly.
As an integrative therapist I work Existentially, Psychodynamically and with CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), depending on my client's needs.
I have trained with psychiatrists at the Royal London Hospital and offer a CBT-i programme for people who struggle to sleep at night. This is a set number of sessions and more details about it are available on my site.
My first session
The first session is about us figuring out whether we would like to work together. We will talk about why you have come to therapy and what you hope to get out of it. We will talk about your life in general and some of the experiences you have had. This gives us a chance to get to know each other a little, and helps me identify whether I feel that I am the right person for you to work with.
