Availability
During Covid 19 I am working fully online ( via Zoom, Skype or FaceTime ) and I have some availability for new clients at the moment.
For coaching clients I would be happy to meet outdoors and take a socially distanced walk during our session if this is preferred, once we have had our initial session and established the aims of the coaching.
My working days tend to be Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9am to 7pm, but I can be flexible.
About me and my therapy practice
My psychotherapy and coaching services are available to self-funding individuals or to organisations. My clinical background is psychodynamic psychotherapy ( looking at our early experiences to understand current life situations, relationships or behaviours ). I believe that our personal and professional lives can be affected by the same issues that may be holding us back or stopping us from fulfilling our potential. Our emotional health is as important as our physical health and needs to be understood and nurtured, so that with this awareness we can improve our overall wellbeing and start living more satisfying and joyful lives.
Contact me via email in the first instance and we can discuss your personal or corporate needs individually. My rates depend on your requirements and can be agreed at this time.
Practice description
I have been in private practice for over fifteen years and also worked pro bono for many years at The PF Counselling Service, where I was also a volunteer member of the Board.
My clients have traditionally been Edinburgh-based, but now that online services are a requirement, I have a wider cross-section of clients across the UK and overseas.
Executive Coaching clients are often based abroad and this is easily managed with remote sessions.
My first session
First or initial sessions are an important part of the process as they are when the aims of the work contract are discussed and some relevant background is taken. It is also an opportunity for the client and therapist to meet for the first time and have a 'sense' of whether there is a good fit between them in terms of style and approach. The client may have practical or theoretical questions to ask the therapist at this stage as well.
They typically last 60 minutes for psychotherapy clients and up to 2 hours for Coaching clients.
