About me and my therapy practice
Hello and thanks for taking a look at my profile.
I'm an experienced BACP Accredited therapist, with a Master's Degree in Pyschodynamic Counselling/Psychotherapy and a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy.
I am open-minded and non-judgemental, making me very easy to talk to, even about difficult things. My ethos is to accept people as they are and help them become who they want to be.
I have worked with many people with a huge variety of issues, and I have come to believe that regardless of their reasons for seeking therapy, each person brings with them their own unique set of qualities that can help or hinder them in their attempts to navigate through the difficult periods in their lives. You are not a set of symptoms or a type of problem. We are all just people trying to work out how to live our lives as best we can in the circumstances that are presented to us. My role, as I understand it, is to help you find your own way.
I have been in continuous practice in a busy Counselling and Mental Health service since 2009 and have thousands of hours of experience working with people to help them work through their problems towards a better and more rewarding life.
If you think we would be a good fit to work together, feel free to get in touch.
I provide one to one counselling/psychotherapy, mainly online. I am based in Moseley, Birmingham. I offer both short-term and long-term work, which is usually weekly.
I also provide sessions using the One-at-a-Time model - where you have a session, have some time to think about what's come up and maybe put some ideas into practice, then contact me again when you would like to book in another session to move things along, allowing maximum flexibility to fit around your other commitments.
I offer Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), which focuses on our relationships and how we feel about them. DIT work is relatively brief, typically lasting 16 sessions. DIT was designed in accordance with NICE guidelines for use within the NHS. However, it has now been made available for private clients too.
