About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome. I am a BACP Registered Counsellor & Psychotherapist with extensive experience in supporting clients. I am based in Bakewell and Whaley Bridge for face to face appointments and online and via the telephone for people across the UK.
When you are feeling depressed, anxious, or overwhelmed, just getting through the day can feel difficult. Coping with emotional problems can be hard, but you don't have to do it alone. I have a range of counselling services to suit everybody.
I offer appointments to individuals, couples, families and groups.
I am a psychodynamically and integratively trained counsellor and psychotherapist which means that we can work together to build a tool kit of strategies and skills to help you day-to-day whilst exploring the root cause of your difficulties.
Counselling looks different for each client. No two counselling relationships are the same. My flexible and inclusive approach helps me to tailor our sessions to fully meet your requirements.
Experience
I have over 7 years’ experience working in general counselling practice. I have supported clients with many issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low confidence, family issues, couples experiencing relationship difficulties and abuse.
I work with local services, counselling people with complex trauma, going through end of life care and bereavement.
I am a lecturer in Counselling for the University of Derby (Buxton Campus)

Ways to work together
Consultation - The first step to working together is to book a free telephone consultation. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have and to tell me a little about what is bringing you to counselling at this point. If you decide you would like to work together, we can then book your first session.
Face to face - In person counselling sessions are available at my office in Bakewell and at Riverside Wellbeing in Whaley Bridge. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, offering an ideal setting to explore your difficulties.
In Groups - Group counselling sessions are held in Bakewell in the peaceful 'Garden Room'. It offers a spacious and flexible space to accommodate small or larger groups. Current group sessions are detailed below.
Online/Telephone - I offer online and telephone appointments from my home office in the Peak District. Whether you are looking to work regularly online or over the telephone or wish to add this flexibility to your in-person appointments, I can accommodate this. I use doxy.me, ideal for individual and couples appointments.
Outdoors - Outdoor, individual and group counselling sessions are available at various locations across the Peak District and High Peak. Individual sessions can be seated, 'walk and talk' or a blend of the two.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I receive regular professional supervision and participate in frequent Continued Professional Development to ensure that I provide the highest level of service. I am fully insured, hold an enhanced DBS certificate and I am fully up-to-date with safeguarding training.
