About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I offer Skype and telephone sessions during the week to offer more accessible therapy. I have been carrying out extensive online and telephone sessions since 2016 as an additional extension to my practice.

I also work in Liverpool Street, in the heart of the City and Rochester, Kent Monday - Wednesdays when able to (in the current climate I am working throughout the week via online and telephone).

I work with a wide range of issues and find it's better for your well-being if you are not directed. The core of my practice is that I empathise and provide unconditional acceptance.

The client-counsellor relationship is vitally important. Many studies show that this is a major factor in a client's autonomy. You are the key to knowing whether a counsellor is right for you.

I draw on knowledge of various approaches to help reduce your psychological distress and enhance well-being. The core theory I draw on is person-centred, but I also bring in elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),  Transactional Analysis, psychodynamic and creative aspects, including guided visualisations. For trauma work I can also offer The Rewind Technique as well as working with ways of dealing with the trauma.

Online & telephone (up to 5pm) - £59. From 5pm - £65 (offering a lower rate during this uncertain time)

Longcroft House (up to 5pm) - £68. From 5pm - £76.

I am always happy to answer any questions you may have.

Practice description

I offer a safe, confidential and comfortable setting in Longcroft House and Rochester, Kent. However, as I am working remotely via online and telephone from March 2020 onwards, I offer a confidential space. I will communicate with you ahead  of the booked and secured session to discuss anything through.

My first session

Information gathering is an important part of the initial counselling session. In order to work effectively, an assessment is carried out with you. This explores what brings you to counselling, relevant history, symptoms, your expectations and the focus of therapy.

The therapeutic relationship between the counsellor and the client determines how effective therapy becomes (as research suggests). The first session explores the nature of the work and how this work might be achieved together. It's also great opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

What I can help with

Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anger management, Anxiety, Asperger syndrome, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Cultural issues, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, Life coaching, Loss, Men's issues, OCD, Personal development, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
