About me and my therapy practice
I work with children and young people aged 3-18 years in schools and in private practice in South-East London. I also provide parent-child counselling and parenting support.
Children and young people express their difficulties in various ways according to their age or stage of development. They can feel confused or overwhelmed by difficult life events such as family relationships, loss, bereavement, change, divorce, sibling rivalry, friendships and separation.
These feelings may manifest in behaviours such as acting out, withdrawing, or even self-harming. It can be hard for them to put feelings into words or to know what the problem is. All they might know is that things are not going too well.
As an integrative counsellor I use play and the arts to support my clients through a process of exploration, change and growth. This will enable them to deepen their understanding of the presenting issue, increase their self-confidence and self-worth. Over time this can help children and young people to reduce levels of distress, improve the capacity to learn, and to relate to friends and family in a more fulfilling way.
