About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor providing a calm and compassionate space for you to explore and process your thoughts and feelings. We all face times in our lives that are difficult such as a bereavement, relationship break up, job loss, traumatic event or feeling overwhelmed by the stresses of everyday life. It’s OK not to feel OK, but you don’t have to struggle alone.
Counselling allows you time to reflect on issues and my role is to support you through the process without judgement or telling you what to do. Some people have specific goals that they want to achieve from their counselling sessions, others arrive scared, confused, with no idea of what they want or what to do next. That’s fine, I treat each person individually and at a pace that suits you.
I trained at Northern Guild Psychotherapy and Counselling, a BACP Accredited training provider. I have experience working in a GP surgery providing counselling to adults from 18 years and presenting with a variety of issues. I have also completed training with Cruse Bereavement Care and volunteer a few hours a week to support bereaved clients.
Whilst my training allows me to draw upon theories and approaches from psychotherapy, I also use my own life experience to understand and help clients. I can also provide you with tools to help you once you leave the therapy room, for example Mindfulness exercises to practice and incorporate into everyday life.
If you want to book a session or find out more please give me a call, email or text. I look forward to hearing from you.
