About me and my therapy practice
Life has its ups and downs but there are times when it can seem like an uphill struggle, when it can feel unsafe or even frightening. At times like these we can feel we have no choices and are stuck, we can feel lost, bewildered or overwhelmed. when we are struggling we can realize that the things that had always helped us cope no longer work or we can feel that somehow we don't quite fit any more.
Having a warm, understanding, supportive and qualified person to share these feelings with, with no judgement or agenda, can help us explore and understand ourselves and find the way to change in the way that is right for us.
My way of working is supportive and respectful. I will not be telling you what I think you should do, but supporting you to discover that yourself, so the solutions you find are the right ones for you.
I have extensive experience as a humanistic therapist, with special interest in loss, bereavement and, in particular, baby loss. However, these are by no means the only areas I can help you with. I also work with abuse, anxiety, social anxiety, cultural issues, depression, identity, relationships, self esteem, stress and work-related issues.
I came to counselling after a long career in business, living and working in several different countries. I believe my varied past helps my understanding of many different issues, including loss, belonging, identity and also work related matters.
In particular, I lived and worked for many years in Spain and am fully bilingual - sessions can be conducted in English or Spanish.
