About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced humanistic counsellor and I work from a comfortable room at my home near the centre of Tunbridge Wells. You can come and see me in person or I also offer online sessions via zoom. There may be a number of reasons why you are looking for counselling. You might be feeling anxious or depressed, having relationship issues, trying to process a loss or change or simply be struggling to cope. I offer a warm, supportive relationship in which you can explore your feelings and current difficulties. I can support you to talk about your past experiences so that you can understand how these might be impacting you and your relationships now. I believe that through counselling you can find a greater understanding and acceptance of yourself as well as new ways to cope and move forward.
Whilst I can help with a broad range of issues, I have a few areas of particular specialism. I have particular experience of helping people with anxiety and depression where having your feelings understood, exploring together what might be causing and perpetuating these problems and finding better ways to cope can make a real difference. I help people who are experiencing problems in their relationships to explore their feelings about this and to find better ways to relate and communicate. I also offer specialist bereavement counselling which can support you to cope with the pain of grief, giving you the opportunity to express your feelings about your loss, understand the process of loss and to look at areas that may prevent you from being able to accept your loss and move forward with life.
My first session
I realise that asking for counselling can feel daunting, but I am very friendly and approachable. If you are interested in the possibility of working with me, please message me and I will arrange a free 20 minute telephone consultation so that you can get an idea whether I might be the right counsellor for you and I can answer any initial questions that you have. In the first 50 minute session, we will talk through some initial questions about your background and presenting issues and find out what you would like to achieve in counselling.
