About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Jessica. I’m a psychotherapist who has worked in mental health since 2013.
I facilitate therapy in a down to earth, trauma-informed way that values honesty, compassion and collaboration. I offer short-term therapy with focus on specifics that may have brought you here. Or I can use a more exploratory approach often suited to long term therapy.
How do I work in an 'integrative' way?:
With the foundation of centring what you'd like, I begin with how you are feeling now (Person-Centred). We could then unpack childhood experiences, thinking about repeating patterns (Psychodynamic), and implement Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques. I can bring in psychoeducation (especially around trauma), and focus on the body (Somatics).
I take a systemic view, meaning not only are we able to look at you as an individual, but we can also take a wider standpoint exploring any impact of oppression and adversity (for example patriarchy for all genders, ableism, and racism).
Who I work with:
I often work with those with a general sense of unease, perhaps searching for meaning and who want to feel more satisfied with their relationships.
I also work with those who have used psychiatric services, for example who come to therapy wanting to understand an experience of psychosis, a spiritual awakening, or mood changes. I am experienced working with those who want to come off psychiatric medication and are looking for support around this.
Additionally I have extensive experience with people navigating difficult workplace dynamics. This extends to activists in social justice spaces, and to those doing peer support type roles.

Practice description
Fees are £70 for 50 minutes (I offer some concessionary rates so please do get in touch if this isn't an accessible fee for you).
Sessions are usually online.
I am available for short-term or long-term therapy.
Once started, I invite regular feedback about how the therapy is working for you. Together I want to build a space that allows for a healing, helpful experience.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute chat prior to our first session either on the phone or a video call online.
This is a space for us to begin to get to know each other. I find out a bit more about what’s brought you to therapy, and you can ask me any questions or raise any concerns you have about our work together.
