About me and my therapy practice
My training and experience as a psychological therapist goes back 27 years. I believe in the uniqueness of each individual and that the treasures of understanding lay within each one's unique narrative. My training began mostly within the humanistic traditions and these still underlay the therapeutic relationship. Mindfulness and cognitive therapy also inform my practice. More recently I've been training in Non-Violent Communication and it's emphasis on identifying feelings and needs offers both simplicity and inner depth.
I am currently offering live video counselling and will soon reopen my consulting room for face to face in person counselling.
My first session
This session is important in arriving at a shared understanding of the issues and to begin to establish a sense of therapeutic safety.
