About me and my therapy practice
I aim to provide a therapeutic space that allows a client to feel respected and valued in a safe environment. I have 28 years experience as a counsellor and I integrate both my theoretical knowledge and my experience into understanding the key issues for my clients and how they can best make use of their sessions with me.
I bring a wealth of experience to my practice and draw on many years of working with adults who present with many forms of anxiety, depression and relationship issues to name a few. There is no one prescriptive method that fits all. Every client that walks through the door is approached as a unique individual holding a treasure chest of deep feelings, thoughts and life experience. It is a privilege to be allowed into this inner space so as to provide understanding, empathy and a way to finding greater self-efficacy and fulfillment.
My first session
The first session is about getting to know one another and to confirm that we both feel comfortable working with each other. I like to get to know what led to the individual being in the place they are at and seeking counselling. Hopefully this leads to a shared understanding of what the issues are that we will work with together over the coming weeks.
