About me and my therapy practice
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Please read on and I'll explain who I am, how I work and how I can help you.
I have several years experience working with individuals who feel they've lost themselves, suffering from depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement or trauma and finding it overwhelming and difficult to cope with every day life. Whether people are impacted by recent problems or long term struggles, I support them at their pace on the symptoms that are causing pain and distress, to help them find peace.
Everyone struggles from time to time. There's no weakness or shame in asking for help. It takes strength to remember you deserve more, when our brains are fighting against us and telling us untruths, and you certainly don't have to suffer alone.
I pride myself on being a friendly, professional, understanding Counsellor and I provide a safe, comfortable, confidential and non judgmental space for you to explore issues that are holding you back from living life to the full.
I have extensive experience working with a broad range of issues and those with complex needs. I use a mix of person-centred therapy, clinical hypnotherapy and the REWIND Technique according to the needs of the client.
I have many years of experience working with issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, suicide ideation, PTSD, Non-epileptic seizures, phobias, relationship issues, trauma, sexual trauma and domestic violence. I also offer clinical hypnotherapy which is excellent for relaxation, re-framing phobias, sleep issues, confidence and wellbeing.
My first session
I offer a free initial 20 minute session either over the phone or by Zoom to talk through the issues that are causing you discomfort. This initial session will allow you the opportunity to get to know me a little, which will enable you to decide whether you feel comfortable working with me and to explore how I can help you. During this session we will discuss what you want to achieve from counselling and agree on how many sessions we should hold and how often. Therapy can be undertaken on a weekly, fortnightly, monthly or on an ad-hoc basis, however therapy is best carried out weekly to achieve the best results.
I appreciate making the first step can be difficult, but you wont regret getting the help you need. My counselling space is on the ground floor and is accessible for disabled clients and has toilet facilities.
