About me and my therapy practice

Working together in a calm, safe, non-judgemental therapeutic space I could help you work through current challenges, heal from painful past experiences and envisage a more hopeful future.

We could explore feelings of anxiety, low mood, anger, shame, bereavement, abandonment and isolation. How these feelings are experienced and show up in other areas of your life could also be considered.

We can also explore difficulties you may be experiencing with personal and/or professional relationships; memories of adverse childhood experiences; traumatic events and issues connected with spirituality or religion.

From personal experience, I know how reaching out and working through uncomfortable feelings takes courage, yet doing so can be the start of a journey to living a more fulfilled life.

If you think I may be able to help you, contact me to arrange an initial free 20-minute telephone consultation to help you decide whether I am the right therapist for you.

Practice description

My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic.

Through the development of a relationship built on trust, we would explore how past experiences may be influencing how you engage with current difficulties. Also, what may be keeping you stuck in unhelpful patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviour. Applying this insight may help you review how you relate to yourself and others, how you approach individuals or situations and help you make more informed choices.

Working on an open-ended basis, will allow you to progress at a pace that suits you, without the pressure of a limited timescale.

As a highly qualified counsellor, I have experienced working therapeutically with adults from diverse backgrounds and range of emotional difficulties. In addition to private practise, I work for a mental health charity supporting clients with a range of mental health challenges.

Committed to continued professional development, I work within the BACP ethical guidelines, accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

In addition to working within a calm and comfortable therapy room, I offer both online and outdoors therapy.

My first session

During our first session we will explore your situation, what you hope to gain from our sessions and how we will work together.  This session will be structured so I can gain a range of useful information that will inform our approach.

The pace and content of later sessions will be set by you.

Throughout our time together we will review your experience of our work.

All sessions last for 50 minutes at a cost of £60.
