About me and my therapy practice
Life can be challenging and difficult for so many different reasons. There are many external reasons for these challenges such as bereavement; work pressures and stress; health etc. and also internal reasons such as the way our minds operate and think that may not be helpful to us.
I believe that individuals have the capacity to grow, to heal and to make positive changes to their lives.
Counselling as a collaborative process where we work together to explore your concerns. I am an extra pair of ears and eyes into your world and I am there to support you throughout the counselling journey.
I offer you a warm and confidential space where you can feel safe and comfortable to sit and talk with me without any fear of judgment.
I have 10 years experience working as an Integrative counsellor and I am registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
I am trained and experienced in using various counselling styles which I adapt and use based on your individual specific needs.
Some of these counselling styles are:
1) Humanistic/person-centred - The focus is on the 'here and now'. I will help you to explore and understand how you experience the world through exploring your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviours, and your worldview to help you achieve more self-awareness and self-acceptance.
2) Psychodynamic Therapy - Exploring the influence of past experiences and their impact on current thoughts, behaviours and relationships.
3) CBT(Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) - Involves addressing how your thoughts and behaviours influence your feelings. Identifying and challenging negative thoughts and behaviours to promote positive change and develop coping skills.
4) Mindfulness-Based Approaches: Using mindfulness techniques to promote self-awareness, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being.
