About me and my therapy practice

I am a BACP registered psychotherapeutic counsellor, based in central Farnham. I am currently working Online (via Zoom or FaceTime) with adults and young adults 18+ Email, call or text me to arrange a half-price 50-minute consultation.

Areas of interest & Experience: I have experience working with clients presenting with a wide range of difficulties, including among others: Anxiety, social anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, feeling ‘lost’, anger, attachment issues, grief and loss, identity and relationship issues, abuse, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, ASD, ADHD. I have also successfully supported clients who experience more severe mental health difficulties, such as: Bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder and personality disorders.

Further experience: In addition to my private practice, I have had three years' experience of working as a counsellor at a local mental health charity which provides well-being support and training to people who struggle with a wide range of mental health difficulties.

My commitment to you: I am committed to offering a safe, warm space where you can explore all your thoughts and feelings. I aim to offer a truly accepting, non-judgemental environment where you could examine anything that is troubling you and causing you pain; a space where you could gain self-awareness and understand the way you relate to yourself and to others.

The type of therapeutic relationship I offer: I hold the belief that healing and growth can only happen within a trusting, genuine and accepting relationship which is free of judgement and full of empathy and compassion. I strive to offer this type of relationship to my clients with the aim to help them accept themselves, to grow in their own unique way, and to make the changes that they want.

Practice description

I am professionally trained in Humanistic counselling and I incorporate a pluralistic framework in my therapeutic work, which means that I can draw from several therapeutic modalities, including: 'person-centred', 'existential'  and 'transactional analysis', to better serve your unique needs. I believe that therapy is not about one-size-fits-all.

My focus in our work: My main focus is on the therapeutic relationship with my clients, so in our work together I will not be telling you what to do or leading you in a direction that does not feel right for you. I will help you to get in touch with your inner resources and to find the right answers for you, by respecting your own pace and by providing a safe environment where you can feel truly heard, valued and accepted as you are.

I may ask some exploratory questions in order to help you develop a better understanding of your situation, and to help you view things from a different perspective, but I will not be giving you advice and I will not be trying to 'fix' you.

My first session

I believe that it is very important to feel comfortable with your counsellor, and for this reason I offer a 50-minute initial online consultation at the reduced fee of £25, as an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have, and to get a sense of whether I am the right counsellor for you.

In this initial session, I will ask you about your hopes and expectations of counselling and I will explain the way I work to you, with the hope that by the end of our initial meeting you may have a sense of whether working with me would benefit you.
