About me and my therapy practice

I see therapy as essentially an exploration of you and your world, which we will undertake together and I can offer you curiosity, compassion, and gentle challenge. Everyone I have worked with has been unique and so is the work you and I will do together, there is no one size fits all in therapy.

If you have got as far as looking for a therapist then it is time to start the conversation and I’m happy to have it with you.

Practice description

My practice is in Twickenham, within easy reach of Hounslow, Teddington, and Richmond as well. I am also working online.

My first session

In our first session, you will have space to tell me how you feel, what you want to get from counselling, and why now feels like the right time. About me and my therapy practice

I offer supervision to other practitioners and particularly enjoy working with student counsellors in this way. I have done this whilst managing a low-cost counselling agency staffed by students on placement, and as a tutor on a counselling degree course.

I believe that it is the quality of the therapeutic relationship which makes therapy effective, and that supervision is no different. The supervisory relationship needs to be one in which the practitioner feels able to bring all aspects of their work, even, or in fact especially the areas they feel they have struggled with. I encourage everyone I supervise to notice and bolster their individual strengths, whilst maintaining awareness of their growing edges.

My own practice as a therapist is informed primarily by attachment theory and this comes through in my supervision as well.

How I deliver therapy
