About me and my therapy practice
I have over fourteen years experience of working face to face with clients.
I started my career working in a treatment centre in central London specialising in addiction primarily problematic alcohol use. Working with addiction opened the door to working with many other issues.
As well as one to one work I also have much experience of facilitating therapeutic groups.
I also work part time for a charity supporting individuals and families who are affected by problematic alcohol use.
The main therapeutic approach I use is person centred which emphasises the importance of the relationship between the counsellor and client.
I also believe that our past strongly influences our future In particular our relationship with ourself and others. My counselling approach is flexible and not a one size fits all.
If you are interested in working with me I encourage you to call under no obligation. This will help you to get a better sense of me and help you to decide if you would like to meet for an initial assessment. I can also answer your questions and discuss what you would like to change.
My therapy room offers a calm space and I encourage you to relax enabling you to gain maximum benefit from your sessions.
I am also offering online and telephone sessions.
My hours are very flexible and I value the importance of your therapy sessions taking place at a time and day that fits in with your schedule.
My first session
During our first session we will get to know each other and I will ask more questions than I would in a normal session.
I also strongly encourage you to ask me questions so that we can get a feel for how we might work together. If you decide to work with me I’ll suggest six sessions which we will review at session four and six to see how you feel about the therapy and explore whether more sessions would be of benefit.
I can offer brief therapy as well as longer term work.
