About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Louise - Welcome to my profile.
I provide an empathic, warm and non-judgemental space for you to explore any issues you are dealing with. These may be historical, present or perhaps future concerns that are impacting on you. Life can feel overwhelming at times and we may need some help to work through what we are experiencing. It takes courage to seek out that help and take the first steps towards change. I am here to support you on that journey and offer you a place where you can feel heard and understood.
My private practice is Bluebird Counselling and I provide sessions from a comfortable space in Chester City Centre. I also offer remote sessions, via online or telephone. I work from an Integrative Model of therapy, with an emphasis on the Person-Centred approach which places you and your needs at the heart of the therapy. I will work alongside you to help you to explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs and behaviour and support you in discovering/developing your strengths. I will tailor the sessions to best meet your unique and specific needs, incorporating CBT techniques if and when required.
I have experience of working with a wide range of clients in various settings. Over the years I have supported clients with many issues including stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, coping with life changes, self-harm, trauma, self-esteem and self-compassion. I am passionate about delivering exceptional therapeutic care and the promotion of emotional well-being. I believe that you are the expert of your own life and will sit with you to find YOUR understanding and YOUR answers.
My first session
I offer a FREE 20 minutes telephone consultation to assess your needs and for you to decide if therapeutic work is right for you. This will give you the opportunity to ask any questions about the counselling process. If you are happy to move forwards then we can book our first session.
In the first counselling session we will discuss your needs and expectations in more depth and I will provide more information about our counselling agreement/contract. It is really important that you feel comfortable with me and able to trust me as your Counsellor. Therefore, our first session will give us an opportunity to get to know each other.
Counselling sessions lasts 50 minutes and are on a weekly basis.
