About me and my therapy practice
I understand that beginning therapy can be anxiety provoking for people. I am a warm, compassionate and gentle practitioner. Colleagues and clients confirm that I achieve these standards in my approach to therapy.
I have been working for an N.H.S. Neuro-Developmental Service for 15 years and now work privately having commenced my practise in psychotherapy and counselling in 1993. I work with individuals and offer consultancy and training in relation to developing counselling skills in the workplace. I work with organisations through their Employment Assistance Programmes (E.A.P.) as well as television companies who offer counselling in their aftercare packages while working with the public.
I am one of a few practitioners who can work effectively with People who have Learning Disabilities and Autism including those who cannot use talking therapy and use other methods of self expression. I work with families who require their own emotional support when caring for their disabled child. I am a full member of the Institute of Psychotherapy and Disability.
When a person comes to therapy, I recommend an initial therapy assessment in order to discuss the main issues of concern. I will then be able to recommend a direction in which to work. Assessments are usually held for 90 minutes. Therapy will be 60-90 minutes. Time is negotiated during the assessment as sometimes the approach taken in therapy may require 90 minutes.
My therapy clinic is held in Twickenham/Hounslow border
I can offer reduced rates for students and people who receive welfare benefits.
