About me and my therapy practice
You may be feeling overwhelmed, stressed, depressed, anxious, stuck in life, struggling to manage change or dealing with relationship and parenting difficulties…
I am an Integrated Counsellor with over 10 years’ experience of working within the NHS, alongside my own private practice. I have helped hundreds of adults, children and young people, who are experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties. I am a qualified Integrated Therapist using a Person Centred approach, Psychodynamic theory and low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Techniques (CBT). I am also a qualified Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner.
I offer a safe, confidential and supportive space for you to explore your issues to help you decide on a positive way forward and to work through problems at your own pace.
I am passionate about helping you make changes and create a more joyful life! To identify and remove any emotional blocks or trauma, whether from childhood or current day that may be causing distress in your current life. I work with adults, young people and offer parenting support around a child's additional needs such as Autism (ASD) or ADHD.
I believe it is the therapeutic relationship between the Client and Therapist that creates positive change. My approach is professional, warm and down to earth, I aim to create a relaxed and comfortable safe space for you to explore your difficulties. I work face to face, online or over the telephone. I believe we have the power to move towards creating the life that we desire.
Please get in touch to help you decide if I am the right person for you.....
My professional experience has been within the NHS and in private practice for the past 10 years. I currently work with adolescents and adults both face to face and on-line. I have my own clinical room based in Cleadon Village, Sunderland as well as working with clients from all over the UK and abroad via zoom. Distance does not need to be a barrier if you connect and feel that I am the right person to work with you.....
My first session
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss anything further. Our first contact would be a free 15 minute phone call, because I understand that choosing to pursue counselling can be a big decision. If we feel happy to progress, we'll organise an initial consultation to help build a picture of what you're seeking. Following our initial meeting, a range of assessment and treatment options are available and we would decide together how best to proceed.
The aim of the first session is to meet each other and create a plan of how I can best support you. I intend for our sessions to be relaxed and for you to feel comfortable and at ease. We will work together, and with support you can move towards a more happier, fulfilling and peaceful life!
