About me and my therapy practice
Hello I am Lesley Watt. I am an experienced counsellor offering an integrated approach to counselling which combines Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic counselling. I work with individual adults and young people aged 18 years plus. I want to provide you with an opportunity to talk in a way which explores what is going on in your life and help you to work towards change.
Are you experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, sadness, stress, anger, guilt, shame, feeling overwhelmed, uncertainty?
Do you feel trapped in a cycle of unhelpful/negative thinking? How does your thinking affect your behaviour? Is your past affecting your present? Let’s explore these together and identify alternative ways of thinking and behaving which can help you to move forward in your life.
There are many reasons why people decide to seek help through counselling. I would like to offer my services to you particularly if you are struggling with anxiety and depression, work related issues, faith, grief & loss, relationship issues, the impact of COVID, weight loss and maintenance, and any other life issues which may be causing you to feel stuck.
Ethics and Regulating Governing Body - I am an Accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) which is the UK regulating governing body for safe practice. I am also registered with COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland) as an Accredited (BACP) Member. I adhere to both these organisations Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a registered member of the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office).
I offer short and long term counselling usually 4-6 sessions initially with a review to discuss if you require more sessions. I will be happy to tailor our sessions to best meet your needs. Life can be challenging but you do not need to do it alone.
I look forward to hearing from you.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Accredited counsellor/psychotherapist with over 2,500 hours of client work. I work in private practice with individuals and with the NHS. I have also worked with the University of Aberdeen, various EAP companies and Charities. I am a qualified Supervisor with a COSCA Diploma in Counselling Supervision. I have had several and varying experiences of being supervised which has shaped and influenced how I see and wish to develop my practice.
I offer supervision for students, newly trained and experienced counsellors and bring myself as fully as I can into our supervisory relationship. My hope is that each supervisee is enabled to do likewise. My theoretical approach is integrative. My goal is to offer you a safe, confidential space where difficult client issues can be explored in a collaborative way. I want you to feel supported and challenged whilst building resilience in your clinical work. It is important that our relationship is built on honesty and trust. I also want to hear about what you are doing well.
I am working online and I offer an hour initial meeting (no charge) via zoom, to establish if we will be a good supervisor/supervisee fit.
Should you wish to go ahead then my fee is £55 per hour or £80 for an hour and a half.
Please note that I offer supervision for counsellors who work with individual adults age 18+ only. I am not able to offer supervision for couples or children’s work.
Please get in touch so we can discuss your requirements. I look forward to hearing from you.
For your information I am based in Aberdeenshire, near Aberdeen.
