About me and my therapy practice

Whether new to counselling and psychotherapy or returning, you are welcome here. I often tell my clients, "Get as comfortable as you can be right now," I genuinely mean it. Your privacy and comfort are my top priorities. My therapy sessions provide a safe space where you can lay down whatever is troubling you so you can begin to feel like yourself again.

There is no pressure to perform, no one to please, and nothing to prove. You are welcome to share yourself openly and honestly. Whether you're experiencing a significant life change, relationship difficulties, a career transition, a painful loss, or simply a sense that there is more to life than you've known, you are welcome here.

I understand that permitting oneself to be vulnerable can be nerve-wracking and lead to healing. I respect the courage it takes to seek help, and I assure you that my approach is always empathetic and client-centred. Your voice and experiences are at the heart of our journey, ensuring you feel heard and valued.

I am trained in a psychospiritual approach to psychology called psychosynthesis. As a psychology of hope, psychosynthesis looks at our innate yearning to become all we can be and views our psychological disturbances as messages from our inner selves, calling us to become more conscious about the choices we make in our lives. However, scars from our difficult experiences sometimes get in the way. I am passionate about helping you connect with that yearning and gently explore your wounds, fostering understanding and hope for the future.

I frequently work with kind, sensitive, and ambitious individuals who struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, and burnout. I support those undergoing heartbreak, rejection, or loss and wish to rebuild their sense of self after disturbing experiences. I also work with those who lack purpose in their current careers and want to reorient towards something more meaningful yet feel blocked in approaching such an enormous change.

Practice description

Nobody can honestly know their worth until it has been reflected to them in the mirror of another caring, loving human. This belief guides my practice, ensuring that you feel held and understood.

What makes my approach stand out is the emphasis on working with the person's embodied imagination. Exploring the felt sense in your body allows you to release stuck emotions that tie you to the past, while guided visualisations invite you to recreate your narratives and discover new ways of being. I also work with the concept of inner parts, supporting my clients in identifying and harmonising the parts of them that have long been in conflict or at odds with each other.

It would mean a lot to me to support you in navigating your life challenges. I've walked a similar path, feeling lost, confused, and unstable after having my self-esteem crushed in unsuitable relationships. I understand the fear of taking a leap of faith outside the trap of an unsuitable profession (I was studying to become a lawyer before I trained in psychotherapy). And I've experienced the transformative power of tailored support when it matters the most.

Outside my practice, I enjoy reading, writing poetry, practising yoga and meditation, taking nature walks, travelling, and organising events focused on creativity, well-being, and community building. These activities help me stay grounded and bring a balanced perspective to my work. I believe in the importance of self-care and creativity and strive to bring that balance into our sessions.

Please reach out with any questions you might have. I am here to support you and would be honoured to be a part of your journey.

My first session

During your first session, you can discuss your issue in more depth. You will also experience my work style, enabling you to decide whether you wish to commit to a working agreement. At that point, any outstanding questions you might have about my contract (to be read beforehand) will also be answered.

At the end of the first session, you will be asked to decide within a week if you wish to commit to working together. I will be able to offer you a weekly slot at the same time every week that will be just for you (I offer some flexibility wherever possible if you need to reschedule once in a while).
