About me and my therapy practice
I am a Qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor working with adults (18+). I specialise in relational therapy: I work with my clients towards creating a contained safe space and building a trusting therapeutic relationship that we can use to explore the deeper issues that may be holding you back from living an authentic, engaging life.
ISSUES I HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:
ABUSE (Including Domestic, Emotional, Financial, Physical, Self)
ADDICTION (Including Gaming and Alcohol)
ATTACHMENT (Abandonment, Co-dependence)
BEREAVEMENT (Loss, Grieving)
DEPRESSION (Including Suicidal Ideation, Post-natal depression)
DIVORCE (Including Separation, Co-parenting)
EATING DISORDERS (Including Bulimia)
ILLNESS (ie. Cancer Journey)
PARENTING (Including (difficulty) conceiving, Miscarriage)
RELATIONSHIPS (Including Abusive, Confusing, Toxic)
RELOCATION (Including Cultural Appropriation, Identity)
STRESS & ANXIETY
TRAUMA (Childhood and Adult)
UNEMPLOYMENT (Redundancy, Job Search Struggles)
I believe every client is unique. There is no "one size fits all" solution or therapeutic process. I experienced for myself the benefits of therapy and I followed my calling to become a therapist with an innate desire to support my clients as I have been supported myself.
Quoting Martin Luther King Jr., I believe that you do not have to see the whole staircase to take the first step. Whether you have been contemplating therapy for some time or it is the first time you look it up, I believe it is important to take that first step towards understanding what nudges you towards seeking therapy, without necessarily having a pre-set/complete plan.
In my private practice I provide a safe, empathic and holding space to explore your feelings, thoughts and patterns of behaviours. I take you on a journey of exploration: where you've been, where you are at, and where you want to go and we explore together what may hold you back from reaching your true potential.
My first session
After the first contact is made, I offer an initial 50-minute consultation to get to know each other and understand what brought you to therapy. This session is also an opportunity to get a feel for whether we can work together.
