About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Karen and I am a registered member of the BACP. I hold a BSc in Humanistic Counselling Therapy. This training, together with many years of practising Buddhism, has led me to understand that when we are truly heard we are able to navigate from a painful or anxious place towards our authentic, more fulfilled and resilient selves.
I hold full practise insurance and I am committed to adhering to the BACP ethical code of conduct.
I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space for individual therapy. I have experience working with young people and adults. I trained at The Metanoia Institute in London and have experience working with clients from many different backgrounds, ethnicities, genders and age groups. Following a career in the creative industries and having personally experienced both helpful and not so helpful therapy, I chose to re-train in my late 40’s. I had a desire to offer a healing space for others to be believed and heard, enabling a process for people to discover a more creative and fulfilling life. I gained a BSc in Humanistic Counselling. I have also completed training within the Human Givens Institute, which is focused mainly on short term work, discovering more practical solutions to human problems. For example; meditation, guided imagery and breathing techniques for anxiety. This combination of training gives me a flexible, holistic client-focused way of working. This flexible approach may also include offering ideas if it is felt it may improve our therapy together; such as reading material or TED talks.
