About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my profile.
Starting counselling can be a daunting experience, but you've already made the first step by searching for a counsellor.
I'm a fully qualified counsellor, and I use a person-centred approach, which means I provide a safe, confidential space, so you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
In my view the key feature of counselling is the relationship. It is important that you feel comfortable, and know you won't be judged as you unpack your thoughts. I will work with you through whatever you bring to your sessions, with warmth, acceptance and a little humour, so you feel listened to and able to share the issues that bring you to counselling.
I have a deep interest in the effect of the mind / body relationship, particularly in areas of anxiety and trauma. I use mindfulness techniques, to help clients connect with their bodies, and the sensations they may be experiencing. Where appropriate, I help clients understand their bodies reaction / sensations and the physical processes that may be causing this.
