About me and my therapy practice

My  aim is to help children, young people and adults through those challenging times when life can leave us feeling unhappy and unsure about ourselves. As we encounter this journey, our true self can get buried away, and we need help to find who we truly are, and bring harmony back into our lives.

The foundation to providing therapeutic healing, is the relationship between the counsellor and client. It can be the most important relationship a person has when life is overwhelming.  Using a holistic approach, I will work alongside you in a safe, empathic, confidential and non-judgemental environment, to help you on your journey to discover the answers that lie within you.

Using a relational-integrative approach allows flexibility to draw on a range of therapeutic models. I have an awareness and respect for difference and diversity and the issues that may inform the counselling relationship. Additionally, I am culturally sensitive to the South Asian community and can relate to its traditions and expectations.

Counselling for children and young people

For children and young people it is not always easy to talk about worries, difficult feelings or problems because they do not always have the resources to understand or process them. This can then result in difficult or challenging behaviours coming to the surface such as anger, stress, low self esteem and confidence, anxiety, depression, attachment difficulties, self harm to name a few.

My approach when working with children and young people is to be child-led, working at their pace. Using the therapeutic process of play, art and conversation, to work through and express those difficult and sometimes overwhelming feelings. In doing so, the child will become resilient and able to use the therapeutic relationship to face the challenges that are ahead of them.
