About me and my therapy practice
Covid Update: I have returned to working face to face with clients with enhanced cleaning measures in place at the Centre. I am also still working remotely where required. I am aware that at present many clients are beset with worries to include: anxiety, relationship difficulties and work challenges. I have undertaken further training in working with these issues and am well equipped to help you if you are struggling.
I am a registered Counsellor with a Post Graduate Diploma in Systemic Practice with Families and Couples and an Msc in Counselling and Psychology.
I work with clients either as individuals, couples or families. I work alongside the client, looking at the client as an autonomous person and as part of a wider family unit. I specialise in bereavement counselling particularly perinatal loss in which I have much experience, having worked in a hospital bereavement support service. I have also written a dissertation at Masters Level on perinatal loss. Unfortunately following Covid people have been suffering from complex bereavement issues, struggling alone, not having been able to be with their loved one who died and grieving alone. I am experienced and able to support you at this very difficult time.
I am also skilled in working with a wide range of issues. I work with some clients simply on 'resilience counselling'; to work on their skills to empower them to deal with the daily challenges of life. I have successfully worked with clients who are suffering from anxiety and /or depression using a range of therapy modalities.
I utilise an eclectic range of methods to include CBT, Brief Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Narrative therapy or Person Centred Counselling. I also utilise mindfulness and relaxation techniques as and when the client wishes.
I work from modern, bright, purpose built therapy rooms situated in Prestwich, North Manchester. You can view more details of the Centre and pictures at https://prestwichholisticcentre.co.uk/
The Centre has purpose built therapy rooms which are quiet, peaceful and calm. There is a waiting area, and toilet. The premises are cleaned frequently to a high standard. There is unlimited parking in the surrounding streets and the Centre is easily accessible by public transport.
I am usually able to see clients within a week of being contacted and do not have a waiting list.
