About me and my therapy practice
There are so many counsellors to choose from. Deciding who will be right for you can feel a bit overwhelming. So why choose me?
I am a Humanistic therapist and work in a warm, down to earth, conversational way. I respect the individuality of each person with whom I work and their unique life experiences.
I believe that while our histories continue to impact us in the present, this is not all we are, and I am interested in how we manage ourselves in response to our experience every day.
To feel seen and heard for who we are can be one of the most transformative aspects of therapy.
Therapy can be open-ended or short term for as long as you find it useful or valuable in your life.
This may be the first time you have considered therapy, or you may be returning to it. Either way, you can call for an informal chat about how we might work together.
I offer sessions in person and online via Skype. In person, my therapy room allows for 2m distance between our chairs and has large windows for ventilation.
My first session
In your initial session, we will explore what brings you to therapy at this point in your life. We will discuss what you would like to get out of the process and what your hopes are for our work together. If we have time we may talk about what you learnt about yourself from previous experiences you may have had of therapy. You can ask me questions you may have. At the end of the session, we can decide if we would like to continue working together and book further sessions. You are not obliged to continue if you are not completely comfortable. And I will tell you if I think someone else would be better for you.
